My innovative approaches to learning  have earned me a National ALTC Teaching Award in 2011. My work has been published in both books and journal articles. These approaches have been shown to dramatically improve engagement and motivation of students resulting in improved grades and outcomes. I have greater numbers of students achieving high marks and a reduced number of failures. These approaches really work!

In The News

I offer all students assistance with their study plans and am available for extra tuition when necessary. I am happy to sit down with each student to discuss and design appropriate study skills to achieve the desired outcomes for learning. My tuition will offer students personalised service from a passionate teacher.

My tutoring and classes are aimed at improving student knowledge and understanding which will result in improved grades and confidence. As well as assisting students to understand each topic, I also spend time going through example exam questions, and guiding students to improve their skills to answer questions accurately and succinctly. In my classes I use Kahoot quizzes as a fun and informative way to keep up with the new content each week. At the end of semester I also provide practice final examinations for both the theory and practical components of the course. 

I offer several study ideas to suit different students abilities and goals for learning. I believe my job as a teacher is NOT to teach facts, but rather to teach students HOW TO learn. This will serve them throughout their student and professional lives. I offer auditory, visual and tactile approaches to learning anatomy and science. In addition, I consider it importent that students have fun learning, so be prepared for some good times!

Although student learning is often driven by achievement of high marks, I focus my tutoring on achieving "deep learning", rather than "superficial learning" which is the result of memorisation and rote learning. Competent professionals will be those that are proficient in their knowledge and that dominate their field through deep knowledge and applciation.
